Rail Vehicle Technician

About This Role

We're looking for a skilled Rail Vehicle Technician to join our team in Bottrop. You'll maintain and repair diesel locomotives and rail vehicles, working both in the shop and on-site. This is hands-on technical work where you'll solve real problems, develop your expertise, and grow your career in rail transportation.

What You'll Do

• Perform maintenance and inspections on diesel locomotives and rail vehicles using established procedures.
• Diagnose faults and repair electrical and mechanical systems on-site and in the workshop.
• Install, measure, and test electrical and mechanical components on rail vehicles.
• Fabricate and refurbish spare parts to keep operations running smoothly.
• Document all work and maintain accurate technical records.

What You'll Need

• Experience maintaining and servicing diesel locomotives and rail vehicles.
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems and control systems (Pneumatics and Control Systems).
• Ability to diagnose faults and troubleshoot complex equipment independently.
• Willingness to travel nationwide with occasional overnight stays and weekend/night shifts.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow safety procedures.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with hydraulic systems (Hydraulics).
• Formal certification in rail vehicle maintenance or equivalent technical training.
• Familiarity with common diagnostic tools and equipment.
