Role Summary
You'll be the first line of defense for our employees' technical needs, handling everything from password resets to troubleshooting software conflicts. Your role combines technical problem-solving with genuine customer service, and you'll own the full lifecycle of support requests from intake through resolution. You'll grow your technical skills daily while building relationships with the people you support.
Key Responsibilities
- You'll provide first-level technical support to employees via phone, email, chat, and ticketing systems, responding to requests in a timely manner.
- You'll diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and account access issues using systematic troubleshooting approaches.
- You'll install, configure, and maintain computers, peripherals, applications, and IT equipment to keep employees productive.
- You'll create, update, and track support tickets through resolution, maintaining accurate documentation of all troubleshooting steps and outcomes.
- You'll assist users with password resets, account access requests, software installations, and basic system configuration.
- You'll troubleshoot Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, printers, VPN connections, Wi-Fi, and other commonly used business tools.
- You'll escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or specialized teams when necessary, ensuring problems reach the right expert.
- You'll support employee onboarding and offboarding by setting up accounts, configuring equipment, and managing access permissions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree or IT certification preferred but not required).
- 1-3 years of experience in help desk, desktop support, technical support, or a similar IT role.
- Working knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and common business applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to prioritize multiple support requests and work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar IT certification.
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, or identity management platforms.
- Experience supporting remote employees or distributed teams.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and cybersecurity principles.
