Senior Property Accountant

Location: Cleveland, Ohio | Full-Time | Hybrid

What You'll Do

  • Manage accounting for an assigned portfolio of commercial real estate properties.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Record journal entries, accruals, amortization (depreciation), and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and monitor property cash activity.
  • Calculate and reconcile tenant billings, Common Area Maintenance (CAM), and percentage rent.
  • Analyze operating results and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for leadership.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation processes.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent accounting experience).
  • 2+ years of accounting experience in commercial real estate or property management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end close.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Familiarity with Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliation processes.
  • Background in financial analysis or variance reporting.
