About This Role

Property Accountant

Cleveland, OH

Manage finances for a commercial real estate portfolio at a respected, growing organization. You'll own day-to-day accounting for multiple properties, work directly with leadership, and build a long-term career in real estate finance.

What You'll Do

  • Manage monthly and annual financial close for your assigned property portfolio.
  • Prepare financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor property cash activity each month.
  • Prepare and reconcile tenant billings, including Common Area Maintenance (CAM) charges.
  • Analyze budget versus actual results and identify financial trends.
  • Support audit and tax preparation with required documentation.
  • Collaborate with property management, accounting, and finance teams.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience (commercial real estate or property management preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
  • Experience with month-end close, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Clear communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
  • Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliation experience.
  • GAAP financial reporting knowledge.
