Location: Cleveland, OH

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year

Work Type: Full-time, In-person

About the Role

A leading Cleveland-area manufacturing, design firm builds electric vehicle technology in the US. You will design real products that go from idea to factory. Your work turns into hardware that customers use.

What You'll Do

  • Design mechanical parts and systems for electric vehicles.
  • Create 3D CAD models, drawings, and technical specs.
  • Build prototypes and test them.
  • Fix design problems based on test results.
  • Work with the manufacturing team to make sure designs can be built.
  • Run structural, thermal, and mechanical tests to check designs.
  • Talk with electrical, software, and operations teams.
  • Test finished products and review the data.
  • Help suppliers and manufacturers move designs into production.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Physics, or a related field.
  • 1 to 4 years of experience in mechanical design or product development.
  • Know how to use CAD software like SolidWorks, Inventor, NX, or Creo.
  • Experience designing parts or assemblies that can actually be manufactured.
  • Know the basics of engineering, materials, and how mechanical systems work.
  • Good problem-solving skills and can work well with others.

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • You've built and tested prototypes before.
  • You know Design for Manufacturing (DFM) or Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • You've used FEA or CAE tools like ANSYS or SimSolid.
  • You understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • You've worked on Formula SAE, Baja SAE, robotics, vehicle projects, or your own engineering work.
  • You have experience with motors, batteries, electric vehicle systems, or electromechanical design.
