Location: Akron, Ohio (South Territory: Massillon, Wooster, Olmsted Falls, Tallmadge, Twinsburg)

Salary: $125,000 - $135,000 per year

The Opportunity

You will join a collaborative team as a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner, working in skilled nursing facilities across the South territory. You'll assess and treat acute and chronic wounds, lead clinical rounds, and mentor nursing staff - all with flexible scheduling, no on-call requirements, and genuine autonomy to own your patient outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Assess wounds and develop individualized treatment plans with physicians and care teams.
  • Perform advanced wound care procedures including debridement, compression therapy, and negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT).
  • Lead wound care rounds and coordinate follow-up visits across assigned facilities.
  • Educate nursing staff on wound prevention, pressure injury management, and evidence-based dressing protocols.
  • Maintain electronic health record (EHR) documentation and ensure compliance with skilled nursing facility (SNF) standards.
  • Collaborate with dietitians, physical therapists, and nursing leadership on resident-centered care.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives for wound prevention and infection control.

What You'll Need

  • Master's or Doctorate in Nursing (MSN/DNP) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Ohio.
  • National Nurse Practitioner certification (ANCC or AANP).
  • One of the following wound care certifications: WOCN (Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse), WCC (Wound Care Certified), CWS (Certified Wound Specialist), or CWOCN (Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse) - or willingness to obtain with company financial support.
  • One year of wound care experience.
  • Valid Certificate to Prescribe (CTP or CTP-E) and DEA number.

Nice-to-Have

  • Prior skilled nursing facility or long-term care experience.
  • Familiarity with Minimum Data Set (MDS) documentation and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) standards.
  • Advanced communication and leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout facilities for prolonged periods.
  • Capacity to lift up to 15 pounds and perform reaching, bending, and stooping movements.
  • Adequate vision, hearing, and communication skills to perform essential duties.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English.
