Successful candidates will possess a combination of functional federal travel expertise, technical systems knowledge, project coordination experience, and exceptional customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
Federal Travel Systems Administration and Operational Support
- Serve as a primary point of contact for GO.gov travel system support, assisting federal employees, approving officials, and administrative personnel with travel authorizations, vouchers, system access, and approval workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving travel orders, reimbursement vouchers, user profiles, routing configurations, and system functionality.
- Provide first-level functional and technical support, identifying and resolving system issues before escalation to GSA, IBM, or the GO.gov help desk.
- Administer user profiles, role assignments, delegated approvals, and approval hierarchies to support agency travel operations.
- Review and maintain travel system configurations to ensure accurate workflow routing and alignment with agency policies and internal controls.
- Assist with user profile imports, configuration workbooks, and data validation activities across test and production environments.
- Support travel approval governance by validating approvers, reviewing approval chains, and monitoring delegated administration procedures.
System Implementation, Configuration, and Testing
- Support the implementation, configuration, testing, and continuous improvement of the GO.gov federal travel management platform.
- Coordinate with GSA, IBM, and EXIM stakeholders to identify implementation challenges, resolve technical issues, and track system milestones.
- Participate in System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including the development of test plans, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
- Execute functional testing, document results, identify defects, and verify corrective actions before production deployment.
- Assist with the design, configuration, and deployment of travel approval workflows, including executive-level and financial approval routing.
- Maintain system configuration documentation and support the validation of updates, enhancements, and production changes.
- Coordinate integration requirements and testing activities between GO.gov and EXIM's financial management systems in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO).
Technical Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution
- Investigate and document travel system defects, configuration issues, transaction errors, and workflow failures.
- Create, monitor, and manage service desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution of reported issues.
- Coordinate with GSA, IBM, and internal technical teams to troubleshoot complex system problems and identify appropriate corrective actions.
- Utilize JIRA and other issue-tracking tools to document defects, monitor remediation activities, and communicate resolution status.
- Maintain issue logs, escalation records, and remediation trackers to support accountability and visibility into system performance.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to system processes, configurations, and user support procedures.
Project Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement
- Support GO.gov implementation activities through milestone tracking, status reporting, risk identification, and coordination with government and contractor stakeholders.
- Facilitate implementation support meetings and issue-resolution discussions involving EXIM, GSA, IBM, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare executive-level briefings, project status updates, issue summaries, and implementation progress reports.
- Track outstanding actions, system defects, dependencies, and corrective measures to ensure timely completion of project objectives.
- Communicate technical and operational issues clearly to both technical personnel and nontechnical stakeholders.
Training, Documentation, and Change Management
- Develop and deliver training programs to help EXIM employees effectively use GO.gov for federal travel authorizations, vouchers, and approval activities.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, quick-reference materials, and system documentation.
- Conduct agency-wide training sessions, workshops, and office hours to address user questions and improve system adoption.
- Provide individualized guidance to travelers, travel preparers, approving officials, and administrative personnel.
- Identify training gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen user proficiency and reduce recurring system errors.

- Support EXIM's transition from its legacy Concur travel management environment to GO.gov.
- Assist with the coordination, validation, and preservation of historical travel records and supporting documentation.
- Help identify and resolve operational challenges associated with the transition between travel management platforms.
- Collaborate with agency stakeholders to promote continuity of travel operations, accurate recordkeeping, and effective knowledge transfer.
Ideal Candidate
