Summary
About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.Duties
- Receives prescriptions from physicians for all types of orthotic braces and appliances ranging from simple arm and hand braces.
- Fabricates, modifies, and repairs other appliances such as arch supports, ankle braces, plaster of paris casts, back braces, assistive devices for polio patients, corsets and others.
- Uses various machines, tools and equipment, such as drill press, band saw, metal grinders, leather cutters, sewing machines, and hand tools, to perform functions.
- Fit, fabricate, design, modify and repair orthotic braces and appliances prescribed by physicians.
- Assists in requisitioning, storage and issue of supplies.
