Summary
This is an OPEN CONTINOUS ANNOUNCEMENT, applications will be accepted until November 13, 2026 or until vacancies are filled. This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA), Office of General Counsel (OGC). The General Counsel is the Chief Legal Officer for OA. OGC provides the full range of legal advice and services to officials of OA.Duties
- This is an OPEN CONTINOUS ANNOUNCEMENT, applications will be accepted until November 13, 2026 or until vacancies are filled. As a Attorney-Advisor (General) Open Continuous, GS-0905-13/14/15, your typical work assignments may include the following: Provides legal advice and counsel on extremely complex and difficult legal and policy issues affecting OA and EOP officials in the areas such as employment laws/personnel law, equal employment opportunity (EEO) laws, ethics and compliance, appropriations and fiscal law; procurement law; and security law (including such matters as personnel security and physical security). Provides verbal and written advice and guidance to OA officials on legal issues, including statutes, regulations, directives, guidance and case law. Identifies legal issues, demonstrates an understanding of the role and mission of the EOP and OA, and effectively coordinates within OA and with other legal counterparts in EOP. Drafts and reviews relevant documents and develops memoranda or other written responses from OA on legal matters. Analyzes and provides recommendations on proposed actions or approaches of projects that the OA is undertaking; explaining risks, legal considerations, and options to a variety of levels of staff and managers. Provides briefings, presentations, and trainings to OA and EOP staff and senior officials on subjects required by law and others mandated by leadership.
