Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range & Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a senior Electrician (WG-11) performing engineering, installing, repairing, and troubleshooting complex electrical systems, also working with PLCs, generators, and controls across the depot.Duties
- Serves as an Electrician to include engineering, installing, modifying, repairing, and troubleshooting (by tracing and locating defects)
- Troubleshoots components and disassembles, repairs, and reassembles complete devices and subassemblies of various electrical systems.
- Inspects, cleans, repairs and maintains lighting, heating, emergency power control, and wiring systems; and checks for proper operation of electrical equipment.
- Assembles/Disassembles electrical, mechanical systems, subsystems, standby and related equipment to determine extent of repairs, overhaul and/or replacement parts needed.
- Fabricates custom parts, substitutes components, and modifies hardware (e.g., brackets, cables, clamps) to rapidly repair equipment, minimize system outages, and ensure safe operations.
