About the Position: These positions are located at Madigan Army Medical Center, within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, in Tacoma, Washington. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. - Provide comprehensive and highly specialized professional nursing care to critically ill and/or acutely ill neonates and infants with potential or actual life-threatening health problems.
- Administer a wide variety of medications, including rapid-acting, highly potent, and potentially lethal medications.
- Plan, delegate, and direct nursing care, based on patient care requirements and staff skill levels.
- Respond to emergencies, codes, or perinatal rapid response team activities throughout the facility.
- Assist with complex and potentially life-threatening procedures such as the insertion of arterial and venous catheters, chest tubes, and endotracheal tubes.
- Maintain stock levels of instruments, supplies and equipment to ensure its availability.
