Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1290000 and is part of the KY FMS 2, National Guard.

Duties

• As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR - TITLE 32, WS-5801-10, you will plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. Determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Assign tasks to be performed based on readiness and explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. Investigate work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Implement corrective actions within their authority to resolve work problems. Recommend solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors. Ensure work in progress and completed work meets established standards by implementation of a Quality Control and Assurance program within the organization. Plan and establish overall leave schedules. Determine training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment. Set performance standards, and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements

Military Grades: E7 - W4 CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard. You must be assigned to a compatible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. May be required to successfully complete a supervisory/managerial probationary period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. This position is located on a tobacco free facility. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Must attended Supervisor Training: failure to complete Supervisor Training within 12 months of appointment will result in reversion to previous position.
