About the role

Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

Duties

  • This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. Applicants will be referred on an 'as needed' basis every 8-10 days. Announcement will remain open through 12/23/2026 but may be extended or closed if needed prior to the initial closing date. The Registered Nurse (RN) - Community Living Center (CLC) is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care in their assigned unit. The incumbent assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. The RN - CLC is also responsible for the following duties: Providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned residents. Providing oversight of licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting. Assisting in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation. Demonstrating leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. Providing peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement. Fostering a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals. Contributing professional nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team. Partnering with others to effect change and produce optimal outcomes. Supporting colleagues through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care. Sharing educational findings, experiences, and ideas with peers. Questioning clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care. Participating in activities and strategies to sustain evidence-based-practice. Collaborating with the Minimum Data Set (MDS) coordinator to ensure documentation is accurate and reflective of the Resource Utilization Group (RUG) score. Other duties, as assigned. Requirements

(Note: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission/NLNAC changed its name to ACEN in May 2013. ACEN's website may be utilized to verify accredited programs using automated inquiry processes; however, for verification of any nursing program's accreditation prior to 1998, an automated inquiry cannot be used and ACEN must be contacted directly via their email contact information on the ACEN website to verify.) The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), located at 655 K Street, NW, Suite 7, Washington, DC 20001. The CCNE is an accrediting arm of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and accredits nursing education programs at the bachelor and master's level.
