About the Position: This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. We accept applications on an ongoing basis. Qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available. This position is located at Fort Riley, Kansas. Duties

  • Obtain diet orders before each meal service from ward nursing staff from faxed diet rosters.
  • Order non-prescription nourishment for patients while maintaining nutritional requirements and limitations of specific diets.
  • Utilize knowledge of calorie values, carbohydrate, protein, fat, fiber, sodium, potassium, and other nutrition components of foods.
  • Assist the dietitian in assessment of nutrition status, nutrition monitoring and screening of individual patient's needs.
  • Monitor patient's food tolerances, preferences, allergies, and/or special needs.
  • Provide professional, courteous verbal communication and interviewing skills.
  • Check diet roster prior to each meal; make necessary diet changes.
  • Periodically order 'mock' trays for quality assurance purposes.
