About the Position: This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. - Obtain diet orders before each meal service from ward nursing staff from faxed diet rosters.
- Order non-prescription nourishment for patients while maintaining nutritional requirements and limitations of specific diets.
- Utilize knowledge of calorie values, carbohydrate, protein, fat, fiber, sodium, potassium, and other nutrition components of foods.
- Assist the dietitian in assessment of nutrition status, nutrition monitoring and screening of individual patient's needs.
- Monitor patient's food tolerances, preferences, allergies, and/or special needs.
- Provide professional, courteous verbal communication and interviewing skills.
- Check diet roster prior to each meal; make necessary diet changes.
- Periodically order 'mock' trays for quality assurance purposes.
