About the role

Summary

The incumbent serves as a health technician for the Audiology Section of the PMRS Service of the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center and its Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The Health Technician position is designed to provide the Audiologists with assistance in meeting the clinical needs of the Veteran population served in the Audiology Clinic. This is an open continuous announcement. We accept applications on an ongoing basis and refer to hiring managers periodically.

Duties

  • The duties of the position may include but are not limited to the following: Clean hearing aids, their accessories, or assistive listening devices, and change any routine maintenance parts as needed; complete in house hearing aid repairs as possible; send hearing aids to the manufacturer for repair if they cannot be repaired in house Prepare hearing aids, their accessories, or assistive listening devices for shipment, including proper documentation in the Remote Order Entry Systems, ROES Maintain hearing aid loaner inventory, including tracking in the ROES system Manages other data to include VISTA, scheduling software packages, or other VHA systems Enter notes into electronic health records in accordance with the Richard L. Roudebush Medical Center guidelines and VHA requirements. They will confirm patient identifiers as required Manages other data to include VISTA, scheduling software packages, or other VHA systems Monitor clinic stock, including ordering items through Central Medical Supply, such as infection control products; and monitor clinic supply cabinet stock, alerting supply chain staff as necessary Open incoming mail aid packages, determining where products should be routed, and properly marking anything in the electronic health record or ROES with regard to such packages VA Careers - Medical Support Assistant: https://youtube.com/embed/EE9c4XkaELo Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Requirements

You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job. To be considered for this position, you must complete all required steps in the process. In addition to the application and questionnaire, this position requires an online assessment. The online assessment measures critical general competencies required to perform the job.
