Job Overview
The Lemon Pros is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Litigation Paralegal to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on litigation experience, strong case management skills, and the ability to confidently communicate with clients, attorneys, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals. This role requires the ability to effectively manage a high-volume caseload while consistently maintaining responsive, high-quality client service.
This role will support attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle, from case preparation and discovery through settlement, trial preparation, and resolution. Because we represent consumers throughout the Lemon Law process, the ability to communicate effectively with clients in both English and Spanish is required.
The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, take ownership of their caseload, anticipate attorney needs, and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain litigation case files from initiation through resolution.
- Assist attorneys with all phases of California Lemon Law litigation.
- Prepare legal documents, pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, notices, and case-related materials.
- Track litigation deadlines, court dates, discovery deadlines, depositions, mediations, and other important case events.
- Assist with preparation and service of discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, and other discovery-related documents.
- Communicate with clients to obtain case information, documentation, records, and updates necessary for case development.
- Assist attorneys with deposition, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.
- Review client records, repair orders, purchase documents, warranty information, communications, and other evidence relevant to Lemon Law claims.
- Maintain accurate case notes, deadlines, tasks, and status updates within the firm's case management system.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, and other third parties.
- Coordinate attorney calendars, hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings.
- Perform other litigation and case support duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2+ years of paralegal experience, preferably with substantial civil litigation experience.
- Bilingual Spanish/English is required. Must be able to communicate professionally with Spanish-speaking clients.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Experience with California Lemon Law or plaintiff-side litigation is preferred.
- Comfortable managing a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery, pleadings, deadlines, and trial preparation.
- Demonstrated ability to independently track deadlines, follow up on outstanding tasks, and ensure matters continue moving forward.
- Experience preparing and organizing discovery and litigation documents.
- Strong legal writing, proofreading, and document review skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines.
- Professional and empathetic client communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and other members of the legal team.
- Experience with legal case management software is strongly preferred.
