About the role
National Star Services, a 28-year-old facility management company providing services nationwide, is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Protein Processing Specialist to join our team at a client facility in Chicago, IL 60608.
Important: This position requires working in a cold environment and performing physical, hands-on processing duties. Candidates must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Employment Type: Full-Time Temp-to-Hire
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing daily protein processing, which may include knife and saw work.
- Following specific customer requirements for cuts, portions, and packaging.
- Carefully picking, checking, and preparing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintaining accurate and adequate inventory levels.
- Paying close attention to detail to ensure products meet quality and customer specifications.
- Operating processing equipment safely and properly.
- Cleaning and maintaining processing equipment on a daily basis.
- Following all workplace safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures.
- Performing other warehouse and processing duties as assigned.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Overtime: Available
Pay Rate:
$20.00 per hour. (Biweekly Pay)
Requirements
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is required to effectively communicate.
- Two valid forms of ID (Photo ID & SSC)
- Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work.
- Must be willing to undergo a Background Check.
- Must be available to start working as soon as possible.
- Must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
- Desire to learn, grow, and become part of a thriving team.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously throughout the workday.
- Must be able to remain standing and active for extended periods of time.
- Must be comfortable working in a cold-temperature environment ranging from 0°F to 40°F.
- Must be comfortable working with knives and/or saws as required for protein processing.
- Previous food processing, meat processing, warehouse, or similar experience is a plus.
