Internship Overview

As an FHU intern, you will gain practical experience in transportation engineering design with a focus on roadway design. You will work on real projects, build technical skills, and gain insight into the industry in a supportive environment where you can explore your career interests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, analysis, and planning of engineering projects
  • Participate in fieldwork, data collection, and analysis
  • Collaborate with team members to develop solutions for clients and communities
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and project documentation
  • Use industry software including AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation OpenRoads Designer

Requirements

Required

  • Undergraduate (sophomore or higher) or graduate student in Transportation Engineering or a related field
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with engineering software
  • Solid mathematics skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Availability for a 3-month internship (approximately June through August)

Preferred

  • Coursework in transportation engineering
  • Prior experience
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation OpenRoads Designer

Benefits

Starting pay: $23.00 per hour
