About the role
Summary
You will serve as a PHYSICAL SCIENCE TECHNICIAN in the FUELS DEPARTMENT, OPERATIONS DIVISION of NAVAL STATION. ***This Job Opportunity Announcement is using an additional online assessment tool to evaluate applicants. - You will inspect and sample a variety of tanks, tank trucks, single product tankers, pipelines, barges and other media associated with the storage and transportation of petroleum products.
- You will analyze test results and perform routine calculations while ensuring that fuel impurity levels are within safety limitations.
- You will maintain records of fuel tests, independently interpret test results, and notify affected ship and/or activity and supervisors of any questionable findings.
- You will calibrate and perform limited maintenance/repair on laboratory test equipment, provide quality control and inspection services for all products received, stored, issued, or transferred at the Area of Responsibility (AOR).
