ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (INDEF) (TITLE 32)

Summary

This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (INDEF) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2240P01 and is part of the 151 MXS located in SLC UT, with the Utah Air National Guard. Priority will be given to those who are current military members of the Utah Air National Guard. The selecting supervisor for this vacancy is SMSgt Robert Peterson.

Duties

• Major Duties: This is not an all-inclusive list As a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (INDEF) (TITLE 32), WG-2610-12/13, you will: Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integrated systems. Completes operational checks, inspections, tests, trouble shooting, removal and replacement of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) which are linked with integrated systems and LRUs which are independent or associated with nonintegrated systems. Isolates unusual malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, tools, and test equipment including automatic test equipment and Flight Line Test Systems (FLTS). Solves complex problems by analyzing installation, circuitry, and operating characteristics of the systems. Adjusts and aligns system sensors, transmitters, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, controls, transponders, actuators, servos, computers and other related components. Accomplishes technical order compliances, modification of components/systems and completes thorough system checks for proper operation. Maintains, modifies, calibrates and inspects a wide variety of user test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds, aligns, and calibrates complete electronic avionics multi-systems control. Evaluates operational characteristics of the integrated systems by observing and analyzing waveforms, voltage, current, power indications, computer registers and printouts. Reviews and analyzes maintenance data; determines if criteria are sufficient to provide adequate test, troubleshooting and repair procedures; devises and recommends tests, procedural changes, or data corrections. Analyzes equipment failure and malfunctions and suggests changes to improve operation. Applies technical data and equipment specifications to determine the impact that equipment modifications or substitutions will have upon integrated multi-system operations and various maintenance alignment procedures. Assembles, operates, and repairs prototype or experimental electronic systems such as inertial navigation, automatic flight control as assigned. Troubleshoots operational malfunctions and analyzes system performance utilizing aircrew debrief data, Technical Orders, schematic and wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, data analysis, common and system-specific test equipment and built in system tests. Identifies faulty parts and repairs to level authorized. Recommends methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures by reporting hardware and software malfunctions, initiates material deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical data, and assists in design changes as necessary. Documents maintenance actions in aircraft forms and documents man-hour expenditures and maintenance actions in the maintenance computer system. Conducts aircrew debriefings to analyze maintenance problems and determines the nature of required modifications. Prepares for and participates in Aerospace Expeditionary Force (AEF) tasking, deployments and various inspections and exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Rank: Enlisted Compatible Military Assignments: 2A9X4 (Must hold a 7 level in one of the AFSCs to be considered for WG-13) Military Membership in the Utah National Guard is required. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Pending analysis, you may be required to complete a new 1-year probationary period when moved to this position IAW CNGBI 1400.25. For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Medical screening will be completed upon selection for hire. Soldiers who accept a technician position may be terminated from the Bonus and Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP). Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Education

ANG ENLISTED: To qualify an enlisted applicant for hire consideration into an ANG Dual Status Technician FWS 2610 position, award of the compatible PAFSC, Craftsman Seven Skill Level; Journeyman Five Skill Level; or, the Apprentice Three Skill Level, with the position's compatible unit position assignment and a high school diploma, are mandatory requirements. Completion of high school courses in physics, algebra, trigonometry, and computer principles is desirable. Higher academic college courses and degrees that are aligned within the FWS Series 2610 type of work tasks are also desirable. For the WG-2610-12 ANG Dual Status Technician positions, the mandatory military training requirements are the completion of compatable Avionics Air Force Three Skill Level Technical Training School; and, the successful On-the-Job training that will result, or resulted in, the award of a compatible Five Skill Level AFSC; or, qualified to hold a compatable aircraft maintenance/armament/munitions craftsman seven skill level PAFSC and successful formal training that will result, or resulted, in the award of a compatible Five Skill Level AFSC.
