About the Position: This position is located at Fort Drum, New York, Guthrie Army Health Clinic, Director of Medicine, Family Medicine. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. Duties

• Assess, plan, evaluate, and modify the plan of acute and chronically ill patients.
• Discriminate between normal and abnormal findings of diagnostics tests to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems.
• Determine the primary care requirements of adult patients and engage in a collaborative approach with the physician team to assess, manage, and adjust therapeutic strategies as necessary.
• Write prescriptions, order the administration of medications, dispense medication and prescribe controlled substances in accordance with scope of practice for Physician Assistants.
• Evaluate the total health care needs of patients and develop plans to meet the patients' needs.
• Coordinate with patients regarding physicians' findings and diagnoses, laboratory results, follow-up treatment plan or the effect of medications prescribed in accordance with approved protocols.
• Oversee compliance with the preventive healthcare needs of adult patients visiting the clinic.
