Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.Duties
- This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. An oral surgeon provides evaluation, diagnosis, prevention and surgical and non-surgical treatment of oral diseases, and surgical placement and long-term maintenance of dental implants, on patients assigned to him/her by the VA Atlanta Health Care System Dental Service. The oral surgeon provides consultative services on patients referred from other divisions/services of the VA Atlanta Health Care System and on patients referred from other VA facilities. The oral surgeon also provides emergency dental services upon proper referral from triage; interprets dental radiographs; treats diseases, injuries and defects involving both the functional and esthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region; treatment plans and places dental implants; and provides education, training, mentoring, and clinical supervision to members of the medical staff through various conferences, committees and lecture series. The oral surgeon has administrative responsibilities through participation in clinical, educational and administrative committees, task groups or special projects. Dental staff Oral Surgeon performs administrative and other tasks as assigned by the Chief and/or Assistant Chief of the VA Atlanta Health Care System Dental Service. Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm (subject to change based on agency needs) Telework: Not Authorized Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
