Summary

About the Position: This position is located at Military Correctional Complex, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment incentive may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Position is designated as a primary/rigorous and is eligible for Law Enforcement (LEO) retirement coverage.

Duties

• Perform independent examination, diagnosis, and treatment within personal credentials and privileges delineated by the military treatment facility Commander.
• Examine inmates and perform initial patient work-up and assessment of patients' care and treatment; and, determine the need for and order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other procedures necessary to complete assessment of the patient.
• Secure a more comprehensive and detailed health and medical history from the inmate, records findings, and other ancillary materials.
• Discriminate between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems.
• Provide surveillance of adherence to medical and primary care practices and procedure to stabilize chronically ill patients.
• Perform outpatient surgical and non-surgical procedures as designated by credentials committee.
