Founded in 2017, we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have. </div> </div> </div> </div> </div></div>Field Service Electrician - Solar and Battery Storage Redwood Materials is seeking an experienced Field Service Electrician to provide specialized electrical support across our growing solar and battery storage projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on in the field, solving problems independently, and helping build processes in a fast-moving startup environment. In this position, you will travel regularly to support active sites, manage daily work requests, perform electrical system checks, and complete maintenance and repair activities with minimal oversight. The role will initially focus on local Reno-area support, with travel expected to increase as new projects launch across additional locations. Responsibilities will include: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems for solar and battery energy storage (BESS) using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and respond to field service work requests for panels, inverters, battery units, and associated electrical systems</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Install, test, and commission electrical equipment for solar and battery system projects</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Coordinate field-based electrical work, including oversight of contractors and third-party service provider</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop and implement standard work instructions (SWIs) for field service activities</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Work closely with operations and site teams to support safe execution and continuous improvement </li> </ul> Desired Qualifications: <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">At least 4 years of experience in electrical troubleshooting and repair, preferably in solar or battery storage systems.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Valid electrician’s license (Journeyman or Master Electrician, depending on state requirements) and relevant certifications (e.g., NABCEP for solar systems, OSHA 10/30, or NFPA 70E).</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrated expertise in electrical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of solar and battery storage systems; strong technical skills, attention to quality, and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Medium-voltage experience is a plus.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"> Ability to independently troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in the field using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place. </li> </ul> Physical Requirements:. <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to stand and walk for extended periods with frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders or stairs, and lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, including pushing, pulling, overhead reaching, and handling tools or material</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces as needed</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Strong hand dexterity for wiring, measuring, and operating specialized electrical tools </li> </ul> Working Conditions: <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Frequent travel required, including weekly trips to field locations.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Work in outdoor environments, including exposure to inclement weather, hazardous materials, loud noise, or extreme heat/cold.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Essential physical requirements include climbing, standing, stooping, and using specialized electrical tools.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">May be required to work nights, weekends, or be on-call based on operational needs</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion">The position is full-time.
