Summary
Position located at Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, New Mexico. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the supervising official providing oversight for Facilities Construction Control. Responsible for overall administrative and technical direction of operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment. This may include construction, improvement, and repair of construction projects. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
Duties
- Designs, coordinates, manages, and administers facilities program. Plans and implements energy conservation measures. Performs facility inspections to identify safety, construction and equipment deficiencies. Advises employees on performance requirements and expectations on their positions and performance progression. Conducts meetings and conferences with staff to explain work requirements answering technical questions. Coordinates major renovations and repair of existing facilities on a current and long-range basis. Reviews design drawings and specifications submitted by engineers, architects, and contractors. Has knowledge of Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning systems, electrical, plumbing and structural systems. Interprets RSMeans database to estimate cost. Collects all data for construction projects. Reviews submittals, contact field inspectors surveyors and other representatives. Tracks utilities, other energy and waste quantities and costs for the unit in a central database.
