MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (BLOOD BANKING)

Summary

About the Position: This position is located at Army Madigan Medical Center's Blood Donor Center in Tacoma, Washington. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Duties

• Responsible for scheduling follow-up appointments for existing donors
• Responsible for assisting the donor recruiter with daily tasks to find, contact, and sign-up new donors.
• Perform follow-up care for donors displaying reactions.
• Ensure supplies inventory is maintained, report any inventory needs to the supply tech or supervisor
• Perform all required equipment maintenance and calibration on a variety of Blood Donor Center equipment.
• Prepare specimens for shipment to testing laboratories.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
