Parts Buyer

United Concrete Products is seeking a detail-oriented Parts Buyer to join our team, responsible for sourcing and purchasing equipment parts, maintenance supplies, and components that keep our production and fleet operations running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of purchasing experience looking to grow within the precast concrete/manufacturing industry.

What You'll Do

• Source and purchase replacement parts for production equipment, machinery, and commercial vehicles/fleet
• Obtain and compare quotes from vendors to ensure competitive pricing
• Create and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner
• Track order status and follow up with vendors on delivery timelines
• Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, pricing, and vendor information
• Coordinate with maintenance and fleet teams to identify parts needs and prevent equipment downtime
• Assist in identifying and qualifying new suppliers
• Monitor stock levels for critical/frequently used parts and reorder as needed
• Resolve discrepancies related to orders, shipments, invoices, or damaged parts

Requirements

What You Bring

• 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or parts buying
• Thorough understanding of mechanical/equipment parts and maintenance supplies
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and purchasing/inventory software
• Good communication and negotiation skills

Nice to Have

• Experience purchasing commercial vehicle and heavy equipment parts
• Familiarity with precast concrete, construction, or industrial manufacturing environments
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar)
