Founded in 2017,</strong><strong>&nbsp;we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.</strong></p> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div></div><p class="p1">The Director, Direct Procurement BESS will own Redwood's entire product supply chain, including global supply management,&nbsp;supplier industrialization engineering, supplier quality engineering, and material planning. This role sits at the interface between the product engineering team and the industries that supply our core technologies.</p> <p class="p1">This is a build role. With roughly nine months of early groundwork already laid, the ideal candidate will build on that progress to&nbsp;stand up the supply chain for this new high-volume product line, develop close partnerships with key suppliers, and deliver&nbsp;quality parts on an expedited timeline. They will bring a strong background in supply chain management, excellent leadership&nbsp;skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.</p> <p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">Responsibilities will include:</span></strong></p> <ul> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Partner closely with engineering to understand and project supplier needs before they become blockers.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Develop a nuanced understanding of the power electronics, wire harnessing, and mechanical supplier landscape to </span><span class="s1">identify the best partners globally.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Build a robust purchasing process end to end, from quotation to supplier qualification to sustained relationship </span><span class="s1">development.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Make clear trade-off decisions across cost, volume, quality, and speed as Redwood's business dynamics shift.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners to ensure timely delivery of high-</span><span class="s1">quality materials and components.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Oversee inventory management, demand planning, and logistics to ensure product availability and minimize lead </span><span class="s1">times.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address supply chain challenges and implement solutions.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to supply chain operations.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Build, lead, and structure a high-performing supply chain team for products.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain efficiency, quality, and sustainability.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Rapidly synthesize findings and communicate them clearly to senior leaders.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to the business.</span></li> </ul> <p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">Desired Qualifications:</span></strong></p> <ul> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Deep procurement and supply chain leadership experience, ideally scaling a new product line from prototype to </span><span class="s1">high volume.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Experience in supplier management and operations at manufacturing scale.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Hands-on experience developing power electronics supply chains in Asia and North America.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Experience building and managing supply chain teams.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to supply chain operations.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">Willingness and ability to travel internationally and domestically.</span></li> <li class="p1"><span class="s1">A degree in engineering, supply chain, or business, or equivalent practical experience.</span></li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The position is full-time.
