CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Summary

About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Virginia. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Recruitment Incentive may be authorized. Relocation Incentive may be authorized. Student Loan Repayment may be authorized. Advanced Leave Accrual may be authorized. Advanced In-hire may be authorized.

Duties

• Provides treatment services for co-occurring disorders.
• Screen for psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms.
• Analyze and interpret data to determine treatment recommendations and priorities with the individual served, formulate mutually agreed-upon, measurable treatment goals and objectives.
• Serve as a team leader for an interdisciplinary team (IDT) that manages the overall treatment of the patient.
• Provide asessment individual therapy, group therapy, psycho-social skills building groups (such as coping skills, anger management), education workshops, crisis intervention and referral services to patients in the treatment program.
• Evaluate and provide input into counselor development of clinical skills bi- annual valuations.

Education
