Summary

About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Duties

• Assists Otolaryngology Medical Officers in a variety of specialized treatments, surgical procedures and tests.
• Functions as primary surgical assistant in clinical operating room procedures Functions as a surgical scrub.
• Assists in inoperative, pre-operative and post-operative care.
• Cleans, prepares and sterilizes a variety of instruments and dressing trays.
• Assists in patient management by providing pre and post-operative information to patients.
• Maintains medical records and statistical reports.
• Takes culture specimens from the throat, nose and ears.
• Stocks supplies and reports any noted deficiencies in supplies or equipment.

Education
