Summary

About the Position: This position is located at Ireland Army Medical Center, Fort Knox, Kentucky. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Nurse Practitioner performing a variety of professional nursing and health services to patients of all ages. Clinic/work hours are 0730-1600 Monday-Friday. This is an open continuous announcement. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

• Conduct and direct collaborative care assessment, diagnosis and management of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Assess acute and non-acute clinical problems during patient visit.
• Participate in continuing education programs to maintain and update skills and knowledge.
• Obtain and record health history; performs a systematic physical examination and interprets abnormal and normal findings to form a diagnosis
• Order and interpret related laboratory and diagnostic tests; prescribes medications; and initiates emergency care.
• Implement the patient therapeutic care plan, with significant emphasis in the areas of patient/family education, assessment, and support.
• Prescribe and administer medication to the patient.
