Summary

About the Position: This position is located within David Grant Medical Center, 60th MDG, Travis AFB, CA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Duties

• Plan all aspects of the hospital radiation safety program through application of professional knowledge and skill in health physics, practices, and techniques.
• Apply health physics theory and practices to maintain radiation exposures As Low As Reasonably Achievable and assure compliance with applicable AF, DHA, Federal, local laws, regulations, or other guidance.
• Serve as the focal point for assigned contracted projects.
• Responsible for communicating and coordinating assigned program issues with superiors, team members, higher headquarters, regulatory agencies, other installation units, community, and other officials and/or interest groups.
• Prepare proposed responses to congressional inquiries, audit reports, inspection reports, press releases, and public concerns.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work that enhances the safety and security of the work environment.
• Ensure adherence to Federal, state, and local codes concerning health, safety, and the environment.

Education
