Summary

About the Position: About the Position: Serve as a Supervisory Physician (Medical Evaluation Board) with the Department of Defense at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, GA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.

Duties

  • Review available medical records of all military personnel referred for possible disability processing.
  • Responsible for the examination, diagnosis, treatment and prescription of the full range of patients seen for purposes of completing the Medical Evaluation Board process.
  • Responsible for the dictation of narrative summaries, addendums, dictating responses to concerns raised by soldiers and the Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) or Physical Disability Agency (PDA).
  • Leader of a health care team comprised of other physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and Army disability staff. Provide medical consultative services and chart review for quality assurance purposes.
