Summary
The Indianapolis, IN VA Medical Center is seeking a highly qualified, full-time, Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon. The Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon serves as a practicing dentist who performs a full range of professional dental procedures in connection with the treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative, or preventive measures.Duties
- The Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon duties include, but are not limited to: Proficient in assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and post treatment in medically complex patients. Experience and competency in all phases of oral maxillofacial surgery including but not limited to dentoalveolar surgery, complex dental extractions, treatment of orofacial infections, preprosthetic surgery, placement, and removal of osseointegrated implants, diagnostic and surgical procedures consistent with the treatment of oral and maxillofacial pathosis and diagnosis of temporomandibular dysfunction. Provides consultative or emergency services on patients referred from other sections of the Ambulatory Care Center. Completes accurate and timely encounter documentation of the services provided in the electronic health record. Ability to work collegially with other dentists, physicians, and employees in our facility. They should possess the skills, both interpersonal and professional, to work with residents and students in our service. Advanced understanding and use of the computerized record system and understanding of the VA dental eligibility criteria. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
