THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT WORKER/MECHANIC, Position Description Numbers D0487000 and D0483000 and is part of the KS AASF 1, National Guard.

Duties

• As an AIRCRAFT WORKER/ MECHANIC, WG-8852-08/10, you will perform inspections, functional checks, and preventive maintenance on assigned aircraft to include pre-inspection, daily inspection, pre- and post-flight inspections and such special inspections as required, including fuel contamination checks, oil sampling, an inspection of onboard emergency equipment. Conduct checks on hydraulic, electrical, transmission, power systems, etc. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform unscheduled maintenance on assigned and transient aircraft. Perform the full range of repair and testing of aircraft system, assemblies, and surfaces. Using a variety of methods involving test equipment, visual checks and instruments, diagnoses and identifies problem areas and determines the extent of repairs required. Prepare for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises and Operations Other Than War. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.
