Summary
This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of the Secretary. The Office of Employment Discrimination (OEDCA) was established by Congress to ensure fairness, integrity, and trust throughout the Department's adjudicatory phase of the equal employment opportunity (EEO) complaint process. OEDCA is a quasi-judicial independent authority whose Director reports directly to the VA Secretary or Deputy Secretary.Duties
- Issues timely, high quality, impartial Final Agency Decisions and Final Orders on the substantive merits of discrimination complaints filed under legally complex federal statutes. Oversees day-to-day planning, development, execution, and enhancement of program and policies to ensure integrity of the VA's EEO program and accountability throughout the Department. Supervises and leads the work of attorneys and non-attorneys in advancing program priorities by executing process improvements, leading initiatives to improve quality and timeliness of decisions, and promoting a positive team culture. Collaborates with key internal and external stakeholders and political leaders to advance program goals, adhere to oversight requirements, and ensure integrity and accountability of the VA's EEO adjudicatory process. Develops and executes a multi-million-dollar federal budget and operating plan. Oversees training initiatives throughout the Department and within OEDCA.
