FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECHNICIAN)

Summary

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer.

Duties

• You will serve as a FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECHNICIAN) in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES of COMMANDER, NAVY INSTALLATIONS COMMAND (N30).
• You will serve as a Firefighter assigned to a crew engaged in the full range of firefighting and rescue operations.
• You will provide basic emergency medical care and transportation.
• You will assist in reducing and/or eliminating potential fire hazards to protect persons, property, or the environment following Navy established procedures and protocols.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience you may qualify at the GS-05 level with the following education substitute: Successful completion of a 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university in Fire Training, Fire Science, or another related field of study leading to a bachelor's degree; OR Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
