Summary

About the position: This position will be assigned to the Aquatics Center on Peterson Space Force Base. Applicants must be available to work rotating shifts between the hours of 0700 through 2000, including weekdays, late evenings, and weekends. Applicants must be able to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds or more. Applicants are referred to the hiring official on bi-weekly basis. This vacancy announcement may close early if a candidate is selected prior to the established closing date.

Duties

  • Duties and Responsibilities: Incumbent will follow a training plan and spend time learning, procedures, techniques, skills, and requirements of swim instruction with the objective of successfully developing the vocational skills and technical knowledge of an aquatics instructor to independently teach non-swimmers and improvers of every age and ability, recreational swimming to meet goals, refine skills, and stay safe in, on, and around water. In addition to the fundamental Learn-to-Swim courses including Parent and Child Aquatics, Preschool Aquatics, Adult Swim, and private swimming lessons. Incumbent will perform lifeguard duties at the pool. including but not limited to continuously observing swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. May perform other related duties as assigned. Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
