Physical Therapy Assistant

Summary

About the Position: This position is located at Fort Riley, Kansas. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilized to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

• Perform a wide range of complex PTA duties requiring an advancedpractical knowledge of physical therapy, evidence-based medicine and data collection.
• Plan, coordinate, and administer diverse physical therapy programs for wounded, ill and injured patients.
• Utilize the various modalities of physical therapy, as prescribed, to include diathermy, hydrotherapy, massage, electrotherapy, ultrasound and therapeutic exercise.
• Provide updated status in patient progress reports.
• Design a patient progressive treatment plan.
• Instruct and review all home program precautions and contraindications with patients and family members.
• Track procedure’s effects on patients, long-and short-term effects of different types of therapy, and appropriateness of a specific therapy.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to make recommendations for the patient’s rehabilitation and reintegration needs.
