Summary

About the Position: This position is located in a hospital or clinic setting and is responsible for performing professional audiology work supporting the Directorate of Surgery, Audiology and is located at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

  • Evaluate patients for auditory dysfunction associated with traumatic brain injury, polytrauma or post-traumatic stress disorders, to include central auditory processing evaluations.
  • Conduct diagnostic audiological assessments and procedures.
  • Select and fit all types of hearing aids and assistive devices and listening devices.
  • Perform complete diagnostic audiology evaluations on infants who do not pass the initial hearing screening criteria, or who fall within the High-Risk factor for hearing loss.
  • Document each patient treatment by writing clinical reports and ensure documentation is accurate.
  • Perform testing to evaluate vestibular dysfunction.
  • Teach principles of diagnostic audiology, rehabilitation, or vestibular function on an occasional basis to ENT staff and residents and 4th year Audiology students.
  • Operate automated data systems utilized to document patient care.
  • Perform cochlear implant evaluations and mappings.

Education
