Summary
About the Position: This position is located in a hospital or clinic setting and is responsible for performing professional audiology work supporting the Directorate of Surgery, Audiology and is located at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia. This is a Direct Hire SolicitationDuties
- Evaluate patients for auditory dysfunction associated with traumatic brain injury, polytrauma or post-traumatic stress disorders, to include central auditory processing evaluations.
- Conduct diagnostic audiological assessments and procedures.
- Select and fit all types of hearing aids and assistive devices and listening devices.
- Perform complete diagnostic audiology evaluations on infants who do not pass the initial hearing screening criteria, or who fall within the High-Risk factor for hearing loss.
- Document each patient treatment by writing clinical reports and ensure documentation is accurate.
- Perform testing to evaluate vestibular dysfunction.
- Teach principles of diagnostic audiology, rehabilitation, or vestibular function on an occasional basis to ENT staff and residents and 4th year Audiology students.
- Operate automated data systems utilized to document patient care.
- Perform cochlear implant evaluations and mappings.
