Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DOD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This is an open continuous announcement. The announcement will close, without notice, when all the vacancies have been filled. About the Position: Serve as a Security Guard assigned under the authority of the Army Geospatial Center Director.

Duties

• Independently performs, access control for pedestrians and vehicles utilizing standard operating procedures, written orders and regulatory requirement as a guide to access determination for a wide range of unique circumstances
• Authenticates identification through use of electronic means such as the Defense Information System for Security Web application (DISS).
• Serves as the initial point of contact for the installation’s visitors which may include foreign nationals, government agents, elective officials, media and Very Important Persons (VIP).
• Reports suspicious activities, unauthorized entry, fires, medical emergencies, criminal acts or other hazards.
• Responsible for performing and resolving a full range of both standard procedural and non-recurring/unusual visitor access assignments.
