Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic (HVAC)

Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located with Directorate of Public Works at Fort Campbell, KY.

Duties

• Repair and maintain facility heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
• Repair electrical problems from disconnect on unit throughout unit.
• Perform routine HVAC preventive maintenance.
• Repair and replace cooling coils.
• Recharge systems to the proper levels of refrigerant.
• Assist boiler plant mechanics: installs, modifies, repairs, tests, and maintains equipment such as power boilers and associated auxiliary and pollution control equipment.
• Align motors and pump shafts.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
