Summary

About the Position: This position serves as a Health Technician (Surgical) at Womack Army Medical Center, Directorate of Surgery, Department of Surgery. The primary functions is performing scrub and circulating duties across a range of specialties and complexities, providing critical support in routine to trauma cases. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

  • Transport patients from hospital units to the operating room.
  • Screen patients for completeness of preoperative documentation.
  • Position the patient for the specific surgical procedure.
  • Assembling surgical instruments and equipment based on the procedure and the surgeon’s preference.
  • Monitor safe handling and disposal of sharp and biohazardous materials.
  • Provide surgical instruments such as sponges, sutures, and solutions as requested by surgical staff.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
