The Physician Medical Director is responsible for the clinical and administrative oversight of the Community Living Center. The primary role is to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to Veteran patients residing in the CLC.Duties
- Clinical Care: Provide direct medical care to patients in the CLC. Conduct comprehensive initial and follow-up assessments of residents. Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members. Ensure optimal functioning of primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current standards and best practices in geriatric and long-term care medicine. Leadership and Administration: Oversee and coordinate clinical activities and medical staff within the CLC. Ensure compliance with VA policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Serve as a key member of the CLC leadership team, participating in strategic planning and decision-making processes. Facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings and care conferences. Monitor and improve quality measures, performance metrics, and resident outcomes. Provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to clinical staff, residents, and fellows.
