Start, continue, or finish your career here | VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System The Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center seeks a Board Certified or Board Eligible full-time academic Cardiologist to join our Cardiology Section, accountable to the Chief of Cardiology. The Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center is closely affiliated with the adjacent University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and it is expected that the successful candidate will qualify for faculty appointment in the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The successful candidate will have interest, skill, and demonstrated experience in clinical care, education, and investigation. A focused interest in heart failure or advanced cardiac imaging is desirable. Duties include inpatient and outpatient consultative cardiovascular care and attending in the non invasive cardiology laboratories (echocardiography, stress testing, and/or advanced cardiac imaging); and education and supervision of Cardiovascular Disease fellows, other medical trainees, and preceptorship to advanced practice providers. The successful candidate will lead or collaborate in basic, clinical, or health services research in cardiovascular disease. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. Requirements

U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education

Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from an institution whose accreditation was in place for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are: Schools of medicine accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) for the year in which the degree was granted. OR Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) for the year in which the degree was granted. OR For foreign medical graduates not covered in (1) or (2) above, confirmation must be made that the medical school meets (or met) Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) eligibility requirement for year graduated. NOTE: The Under Secretary of Health or designee in the VHA Central Office may approve the appointment under authority of 38 U.S.C. 7405 of a physician graduate of a school of medicine not covered above if the candidate is to be assigned to a research, academic, or administrative position with no patient care responsibilities. The appointment will be made only in exceptional circumstances where the candidate's credentials clearly demonstrate high professional attainment or expertise in the specialty area.
