Summary
The position performs accounts receivable support functions through the follow-up process of outstanding patient accounts within the Business Office. This position is located in Dzilth Na O Dith Hle Health Center, Bloomfield, New Mexico. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
Duties
- THIS POSITION IS BEING READVERTISED TO SOLICIT ADDITIONAL APPLICATIONS. APPLICANTS WHO APPLIED PREVIOUSLY NEED NOT REAPPLY UNLESS SUBMITTING UPDATED AND/OR MISSING INFORMATION. Reviewing patient accounts to determine status of the account, making standard adjustments that require special analysis, prepare and process a variety of documents. Performing work consisting of examination for accuracy, adequacy of documentation or citation compliance with regulations and justification of claims. Generating and maintaining appropriate documents on such patient accounts and refers to Supervisory Health System Specialist/Business Office Manager for disposition. Maintaining documents of all activity related/performed on patient accounts in patient financial folder. Making decisions, devises solutions and takes action based on program knowledge related to patient accounts.

Timely completion is critical to avoid delays in processing or a determination of unsuitability. Financial Suitability Requirement: This position requires a review of the applicant's financial history as part of the personnel security and suitability determination. Applicants must demonstrate financial responsibility, maintain good standing with creditors, and satisfy all legal financial obligations prior to applying. Individuals with substantial delinquent or unresolved financial obligations-including, but not limited to, delinquent federal or state tax liabilities, defaulted federal student loans, court-ordered fines or fees, or child support arrears-may be deemed unsuitable for employment with the Indian Health Service (IHS). Prior to the appointment, candidates must present two valid forms of identification. If one of the documents is a state-issued ID or driver's license, it must be REAL ID-compliant.
Education
