Nurse (Clinical/Emergency Department)

Summary

About the Position: This position is located at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a clinical nurse performing a variety of professional nursing and health services to patients of all ages. Work hour shifts range from 8 to 12 hours shifts and may range from 0700-1900, 1100-2300. This is an open continuous announcement. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Duties

• Interview and takes medical histories, to acquire medically necessary information to assess physical and mental status of patient.
• Perform triage, while considering both physical and psychosocial elements.
• Observe, monitor, and assess patient's condition.
• Teach, onboard, and mentor professional and paraprofessional nursing staff.
• Conduct and participate in the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of facility, departmental, or unit-based programs.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting for urgent or emergent care.
• Function as a charge nurse on a rotational basis and determines staffing requirement and effectively directs patient care and unit activity.
• Independently react to emergencies, collaborate with physicians, make changes to nursing care plans and implement nursing care plans accordingly.
